Grace Dupont is 32 years old with 17 years in the food industry! She is an Elby Winner (Special award given for the best students) and received three awards from the Chamber of Commerce in Farmville. Her son Wesley means everything to her, and she’s happy that her dog Honeysuckle doesn’t mind being parented as well!
Grace grew up in a family of cooks. Her dad is a great cook, specializing in traditional French food. On the opposite side of the spectrum, Grace’s mom is an adventurous cook, has lived in New York and cooked in the Wegman’s home store. Mom is from the Midwest and loves Mayo!
Grace is a graduate of the culinary program at Virginia College. She graduated top in her class and was an intern and executive chef at One19. At age 24, she ventured out as a private caterer.
At age 31, she became the chef at the Barrel House at Sandy River Distillery.
At 32, she began teaching at Central High School as their culinary arts teacher.
Grace credits so many for where she is today, and she is grateful for the freedom to put her own stamp and make a difference in the culinary field.
Lunenburg County Ministries is thrilled to have not only Billy Bryan, a Lunenburg Native, as guest chef, but also welcoming Grace, along with her students at Central.
